Family DentistryBy the time your child turns 2 ½, they’ll probably have all of their baby teeth. If they haven’t already been to our family dentistry centre for a checkup before then, when they have all of their teeth is a great time to make seeing a dentist a habit. To make sure your child’s first trip to our family dentistry centre is a success, we recommend the following:

  • Let us know if your child takes any medications. It’s also a good idea to let us know what their pediatrician’s phone number is, so we can contact them if we have any questions.
  • If your child still uses a pacifier, sucks their thumb, or drinks a bottle, let us know. This will help us understand if there’s anything that could be affecting their teeth or jaw.
  • Take time to talk to your child about what will happen at the dentist before their appointment.

When you take your child to our family dentistry centre for the first time, we’ll first formally introduce ourselves to them, so they feel comfortable during their checkup. Then, we’ll go over what we’re going to do during the checkup and help them understand the tools we’re going to use. We’ll pay close attention to how your child is reacting during the appointment so they have a good experience overall.

If you want to schedule your child’s next appointment, give us a call! We look forward to meeting the dental needs of your entire family.
